First aid Level 1 is the first and immediate assistance given to any person suffering from either a minor or serious illness or injury, with care provided to preserve life, prevent the condition from worsening, or to promote recovery. It includes initial intervention in a serious condition prior to professional medical help being available, such as performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) while waiting for an ambulance, as well as the complete treatment of minor conditions, such as applying a plaster to a cut.

Successful candidates credited with this unit standard are able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of emergency scene management
  • Demonstrate an understanding of elementary anatomy and physiology
  • Assess an emergency situation
  • Apply First Aid procedures to the life-threatening situation
  • Treat common injuries

Formative Assessments

The online assessment process is easy to follow. Your responsibility is to complete all the activities in the Form of quiz Assessment. Quiz assessment contains 20 match the answer and multiple choice question to complete. You will be given 30 minutes to complete quiz and competency pass level is 95%. The quiz has unlimited attempts and if you do not succeed  at first you can try again until you have completed quiz successfully, then next assignment will unlock

Summative Assessments

You will be required to complete a summative assessments. The Summative Assessment Guide will assist you in identifying the evidence required for final assessment purposes. You will be required to complete these activities on your own time, using real life projects in your workplace or business environment in preparing evidence for your Portfolio of Evidence. Practical exercises to be completed at the end of the course at CERTIFIED TRAINING SOLUTIONS for individuals or by submitting practical video demonstration of your practical knowledge. Facilitator will guide you on what is required of your practical demonstration.

Companies conducting Distance eLearning and require to do their practical demonstration on their premises after their completion of all eLearning assignment can arrange with CERTIFIED TRAINING SOLUTIONS to conduct practical for their employees on their site where additional fees will apply for site visit.
