An assessor is a person with the required knowledge and skills that determines the competence of a learner in meeting required standards and doing the job at hand in their own particular field of expertise by collecting evidence.

Practitioners credited with this course will be able to conduct assessments within their fields of expertise. This course will contribute towards the achievement of a variety of qualifications, particularly within the fields of Education Training and Development Practices and Human Resource Development.

In particular, people credited with this unit standard will be able to:

Demonstrate understanding of outcomes-based assessment;
Prepare for assessments;
Conduct assessments;
Provide feedback on assessments; and
Review assessments.
